About

Nicola Giannini is a composer of electroacoustic music living and working in Montreal, Canada. His practice focuses on immersive music, both acousmatic and live. His works have been presented in North America, South America and Europe.

His piece “Eyes Draw Circles of Light” won first prize in the 2019 Jeux de Temps / Times Play (JTTP) competition organized by the Canadian Electroacoustic Community and an honorable mention in the XII Electroacoustic Competition of Fundación Destellos (Argentina, 2019). He is a doctoral student in music composition at the Faculty of Music of the Université de Montréal under the supervision of Robert Normandeau. He is also a research assistant at the Groupe de recherche en immersion spatiale (GRIS) and course instructor. He is one of the coordinators of the CIRMMT student community for Research Axis 4: Expanded musical practice.
