About

Mélanie Frisoli is a French composer, sound designer and musician based in Montreal. Before turning to acousmatic music, she published 6 albums as a writer/composer, 3 books in independent publishing houses, and gave more than 700 concerts around the world. She has collaborated with numerous artists from the fields of dance and theater, as well as recorded, produced and mixed for music and film. She is currently completing a Master’s degree in composition and sound design at the Faculty of Music of the Université de Montréal under the direction of Robert Normandeau. Her research work focuses on the spatialization of sound and is inspired by the soundscape, noise and the limits of technology. She received the Prix Marcelle 2020 and 1st prize in the JTTP 2020 competition, awarded by the Canadian Electroacoustic Community (CEC).
